The Reference Staff is offering one-on-one training for select databases. These sessions last up to fifteen minutes and must be scheduled in advance by calling 201-391-5090 and asking for the Reference Desk.

We are available to help for the following databases:

Ancestry.com is a genealogical database available on the public PCs inside the Montvale Library only.

CloudLibrary is an app that allow BCCLS patrons to borrow e-books and audiobooks on their e-devices (phone, tablet or laptop). Please note that you must have a valid BCCLS Library Card and PIN to use CloudLibrary; also, not all e-devices are compatible. We can only offer guidance installing CloudLibrary and cannot handle your e-device or install the app for you.

Lynda.com is a massive online learning resource that hosts a library of over 3,000 video courses taught be expert instructors. Courses taught include Quicken, Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Javascript, HTML and Apple OS X, among others. Lynda.com can be accessed remotely by Montvale Library patrons only. Please note that you will need a valid Montvale Library card and PIN to access and create an account on Lynda.com.

Interested in learning a foreign language? Try Mango! Mango is an online language-learning system that can be accessed remotely. Languages include Spanish, Italian, French, Japanese, German, Mandarin Chinese and many others!  Please note that you will need a valid Montvale Library card to access Mango.

Morningstar Online is a user-friendly database that provides ratings on stocks and mutual funds. It is available on the public PCs inside the Montvale Library.

It isn't a database, but the Montvale Library provides a quick tutorial on Word 2010, a software program available on our public PCs.

The Montvale Library also has other databases, here. If you're interested in help learning one, give us a call!
